Crochet Easy Pink Bow Hair Tie Tutorial for Beginners

Foundation

Make a slip knot. Chain 78. Ensure all chains are even.

Row 1

• Ch 1 (does not count as stitch)
• 10 hdc
• 6 sl st
• 20 hdc
• 6 sl st
• 20 hdc
• 6 sl st
• 10 hdc

This structure creates the bow shape where half double crochet forms the bow and slip stitches form the center.

Row 2 (Back Loop Only)

Ch 1, turn. Repeat Row 1 pattern by working only in the back loops. Place a stitch marker on the first stitch.

Rows 3 & 4

Repeat Row 2 exactly. Work hdc on hdc and sl st on sl st, always in the back loops only.

Finishing

Ch 1, fasten off leaving a small tail. Weave in all ends neatly using a tapestry needle.

Shaping the Bow

Fold the piece so that the slip stitch sections align in the center. Wrap yarn tightly around the center several times and secure at the back with knots.

Attach Hair Tie

Place the hair tie at the back of the bow and wrap yarn around both the bow and elastic. Secure and weave in ends.
