Crochet Twisted Headband / Ear Warmer – Easy Ribbed Crochet Pattern
This crochet twisted headband is a simple, beginner-friendly project that works up quickly and is perfect for fall and winter. Made using single crochet stitches and back loop only ribbing, this headband has a beautiful stretchy texture and a stylish twisted knot at the front.
Materials Required
- 5-ply wool + acrylic blend yarn
- 3.5 mm crochet hook

Size Guide
The foundation chain is made based on head circumference. For a 24-inch head size, the foundation chain measures approximately 21–21.5 inches, allowing stretch for a comfortable fit.
Crochet Twisted Headband – Written Pattern
Foundation
Make a slip knot and crochet a foundation chain to match your head circumference measurement without counting stitches.
Row 1
Skip the first chain from the hook. Make single crochet stitches in each chain across. Place a stitch marker in the first stitch.
Row 2
Chain 1 and turn. Make the first single crochet into both loops. From the second stitch onwards, work single crochet in the back loop only. In the last stitch, work into both loops.
Row 3 and Onwards
Repeat Row 2. Continue working back loop only single crochet stitches, ensuring the first and last stitches of each row are worked into both loops for neat edges.
Continue until the headband reaches your desired width. Make sure the total number of rows is even.
Finishing the Twist
Fold the band in half. Bring both ends inward to form a twisted “C” shape. Sew all layers together using a tapestry needle. Secure with knots and weave in all ends.
Final Touch
Turn the twist inward to create a neat twisted knot appearance at the front.
