Crochet Almond Ridges Reversible Beanie – 3D Textured Hat Pattern

🧶 Materials Needed

📌 Crochet Pattern Instructions

Foundation

Make a foundation chain in multiples of 8 + 5 extra chains.
Example: ch 69 (64 + 5)

Row 1

Skip first chain.  
Make 4 slip stitches → forms almond ridge.  
Next 4 stitches: half double crochet (hdc).  
Repeat: 4 slip stitches, 4 hdc across the row.  
End with slip stitches.

Row 2

Ch 1, turn.  
Work in back loops only.  
Repeat Row 1 pattern: 4 slip stitches, 4 hdc.

Row 3

Ch 1, turn.  
Begin with 4 hdc over previous slip stitches.  
Then 4 slip stitches over previous hdc.  
Repeat across the row.

Row 4

Repeat Row 3.  
Continue alternating pattern for 60 rows or until desired circumference.

Joining Ends

Fold work in half.  
Use tapestry needle to sew foundation chain to last row (back loops only).

Closing Top

Attach yarn to top edge.  
Make single crochet border.  
Use invisible decrease: insert hook into front loops of 2 stitches, pull through, sc.  
Repeat until closed.  
Weave in ends and secure with knots.
