Crochet Car Applique – Easy & Cute Embellishment Pattern
Looking to add a playful touch to your crochet projects? This easy crochet car applique is the perfect embellishment for baby blankets, clothing, bags, and more. With just a few basic stitches and fun colors, you can make this adorable car in no time!
Materials Needed:
- 4 ply cotton yarn (blue, red or colors of your choice)
- 3 mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Glue (optional, for attaching tires)
- Sketch pen or embroidery thread for details
Written Pattern – Crochet Car Applique
Base of the Car:
- Ch 10
- R1: Skip first ch from hook, 1 sc in each ch across (10)
- R2–R3: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in each st across (10)
- R4: Ch 4, skip 4 sts, 1 tr in next st, ch 3, skip 2 sts, sl st in next st
- R5: Ch 1, turn
- In ch-3 space: 5 sc
- On top of tr: 1 sc
- In gap: 5 sc
- Continue working around:
- 1 sc in side of each row (R3, R2, R1)
- 2 sc in corner
- 1 sc in each ch along bottom
- 1 sc in opposite side (R1, R2, R3)
- 2 sc in corner
- 2 sc on top, sl st to join
- Fasten off, weave in tails
Tires (Make 2):
- MR, ch 1 - 8 sc into ring - Sl st into first st, ch 1, fasten off - Weave in ends
Assembly:
Use glue or sewing to attach tires at the base of the car. Use a sketch pen or embroidery thread to add headlight detail. That’s it – your crochet car applique is ready!
