R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
R4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
R5–7: 1 sc in each st (24)
R8: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
R9: 1 sc in each st (18)
R10: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)

Stuff the base

R11: BLO - 1 sc in each st (12)
R12: 1 sc in each st (12)
R13: (2 sc, inc) x 4 (16)
R14: (3 sc, inc) x 4 (20)
R15–17: 1 sc in each st (20)
R18: (3 sc, dec) x 4 (16)
R19: (2 sc, dec) x 4 (12)
R20: (1 sc, dec) x 4 (8)
R21: 1 sc in each st (8)
R22: inc x 8 (16)

Stuff firmly again

R23–24: 1 sc in each st (16)
R25: sl st, ch 1, fasten off

Final Touch:

  • Use a tapestry needle to embroider a simple slit on the top to represent the bishop’s classic mitered hat shape.
  • You can shape the top by gently squeezing and forming while stuffing.
