Each square:
- ch 11
- Row 1: dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc across (9 dc)
- Row 2–5: ch 2, turn, dc in each st (9 dc)
Make 64 squares total.
Arrange the squares in alternating color pattern:
- 8 squares per row x 8 rows = 64 total
Use tapestry needle or whip stitch to join:
- First assemble rows horizontally
- Then join the rows vertically
